TIDSLINJE

Public Artwork,
2024 Västerfärnebo

"Tidslinje" (Eng. Timeline) is an interactive artwork inspired by local stories from Västerfärnebo. The work is located in a village in Västmanland, rich in stories and legends, shaped by colorful people and the course of history. The interactive artwork on the fence highlights some of the local chapters that make the area so unique. Here, you can see one of the buses from Sweden's first automobile association, which was founded in Västerfärnebo in 1921. This allowed people to travel past places such as the Giant Woman's Grave and Nisse's 21-meter-high radio tower. Along the way, you’ll also encounter the country’s best gelato, as well as memories of the fire in 2014 and the retirement home Björkgården, which, over the past 100 years, has hosted accordion music, masquerades, candlelight ceremonies, and much more. If visitors point their camera at the fence, they can see many more local memories come to life through animation, music and AR.

The work was shaped through conversations and workshops with locals, in collaboration with Håkan Lidbo, Sala Municipality, and Sala 400 år.
